BUSINESS ANALYST INSTRUCTORS

The Boston University Corporate Education Center offers corporate and professional seminars and certificate programs for individuals and organizations in business, technology, and professional fields.

We are growing our business and are currently looking for top-notch instructors and consultants to teach and consult in our business analyst and IT certificate programs. Qualified instructors should have the following experience:

Required Experience/Skills

  • 5+ years experience working as a Business Analyst on OO projects using UML and a CASE (modeling) tool
  • 3+ years experience working with use cases and experience running requirements gathering sessions with users. Expertise in use case diagrams, basic and alternate flows, UML conventions, and activity diagrams
  • 5+ years as a project manager or project lead on IT projects managed with an iterative methodology employing use cases - such as RUP or MSF
  • Experience in process improvement, as well as in interviewing and reconciling views of stakeholders using workflow analysis
  • Experience in IBM Rational ROSE is strongly preferred, but experience using other UML tools will be considered
  • Prior training experience is a MUST! Domestic travel may be required.

DIRECTOR OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Description
The Boston University Corporate Education Center offers corporate and professional training and certificate programs for individuals and organizations in business, technology, and professional fields.

The purpose of this position is to lead development and production of new curriculum, online or instructor-led, to meet the needs of the various program groups. This position establishes standards for courseware design and development, and assesses training effectiveness. This position also manages special curriculum development projects, including leading the development of e-learning, online assessments, and custom ILT products. It oversees product development staff and contract instructional designers, course developers, online developers, editors, and others to ensure conformance to project schedules, scope, quality, and budget. This position assists in identifying new product initiatives, vendor selection, and negotiation of contractor agreements. This position is responsible for contributing to the development of, and monitoring the budget for the Product Development operations. It is also responsible for the efficient use of staff and resources to meet organizational needs.

The successful candidate must be an effective project manager with excellent team-building skills. They must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong negotiation skills. Must be able to work under a dead-line driven environment, and be able to prioritize workloads. Must understand organizational goals and make decisions that drive organizational and customer success. The candidate must also have strong technical skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct day-to-day activities of the Product Development team, including subject matter experts
  • Research, evaluate, and deploy technology-based learning and assessment solutions
  • Oversee the design of new courseware
  • Create and maintain quality policy and procedures; create project plans to ensure strict adherence to schedule, quality standards, and budget
  • Perform hands-on work as needed (such as developing courseware components - case studies, exercises, etc.)
  • Monitor and approve all Product Development expenses

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in training and development and education preferred.

Experience:

  • 5-7 years in a fast-paced product development environment.
  • Experience in a corporate environment
  • A thorough knowledge of adult learning principles
  • 5+ years experience managing contract staff and vendors
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Must have project management knowledge and experience and courseware design and development expertise.
  • Knowledge of the training industry and commercial product development.
  • Experience managing product development budgets
  • Ability to build and manage a high performing team

DIRECTOR OF INSTRUCTION AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

Description
The Boston University Corporate Education Center offers corporate and professional training and certificate programs for individuals and organizations in business, technology, and professional fields.

The purpose of this position is to provide oversight of all instructors for BUCEC. This position will establish guidelines and standards for instructors; assess instructor performance in the classroom; manage instructor recruitment and daily rate negotiations; resolve issues that occur in the classroom; be responsible for the efficient use of instructor resources to meet organizational needs.

The successful candidate must be a proven manager with excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong negotiation skills and the ability to work within a dead-line driven environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Recruit instructors in regions in which public programs are offered and throughout the US and internationally to support operations
  • Develop, coordinate, and host Train-the-Trainer sessions to prepare instructors for new or updated courses
  • Provide performance reviews of instructors to include:
  • Collect and processing all instructor evaluations
  • Provide monthly reports of instructor performance
  • Visit classrooms to evaluate instructors as they teach
  • Perform formal evaluations of all instructors on an annual basis
  • Create and maintain quality policies for instructor performance
  • Resolve instructor related issues that occur in the classroom
  • Maintain daily rate (salary) guidelines for instructors, including negotiating increases when applicable
  • Maintain instructor contracts, updating as required
  • Work with Sales to provide instructors to assist in sales opportunities
  • Work with Operations to schedule instructors for classes
  • Work with Product Development to schedule instructors for development of courses
  • Create and maintain an instructor handbook
  • Participate in RFQ response development
  • Work with instructors of non-BUCEC owned courses to develop course outlines, TOCs, and product briefs
  • Work with VP, Strategic Initiatives to evaluate new management development programs/courses
  • Maintain bios/resumes of all instructors
  • Maintain instructor information database
  • Coordinate between Product Development and instructors of non-BUCEC owned course to ensure a consistent look-and-feel with BUCEC owned courseware
  • Coordinate and run quarterly instructor meetings

Qualifications:

Education: Master’s Degree in management, education administration, or instruction preferred

CORPORATE ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE

Description
The Boston University Corporate Education Center provides high quality training in Management Development, Project Management, Information Technology and Professional Education programs for corporations and individuals at company sites and through our network of affiliates throughout the country. The Boston University Corporate Education Center is currently seeking a Corporate Account Executive. The CAE will pursue sales opportunities through cold calls, networking, referrals and inbound leads to meet or exceed monthly sales goals. Through consultative solution selling, the CAE will analyze customer needs, make presentations and close accounts. Boston University offers a virtual office environment.

Required Experience/Skills

  • BS/BA or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of outside, B2B sales experience.
  • Experience with selling training, software, telecommunications or other intangibles preferred.

CORPORATE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

The Boston University Corporate Education Center is currently seeking a part time Recruiter to help us expand. Operating from our Tyngsboro, MA facility, this recruiter will work 16 to 24 hours per week sourcing, recruiting and interviewing job candidates.
