PMP Certification

Are you responsible for managing projects from inception to delivery? Do you sometimes find doing so difficult because of the project's complexity and scope, or because of limited resources?

If so you are not alone. The majority of new projects do not meet their expectations, cost parameters or deadlines. Fortunately, strong project management skills can be learned. Boston University Corporate Education Center (BUCEC) can teach you the skills necessary to successfully champion a project from beginning to end while at the same time help you attain your Project Management Professional or PMP certification.

PMP certification is recognized globally
The Project Management Institute (PMI®), a globally recognized professional association, establishes, administers and maintains PMP certification standards. BUCEC is a charter member of the Project Management Institute and is the only university on PMI's corporate council.

By passing PMP certification testing requirements, individuals prove that they have the skills necessary to execute projects on time and within budget. Given the rigorous and comprehensive PMP certification testing requirements, PMP certification has become the project management profession's most globally recognized and respected certification credential.

Requirements for PMP certification
To be considered for PMP certification, candidates must first meet specific education and experience requirements and agree to meet PMI's strict code of professional ethics. The final step to receiving PMP certification is to pass a multiple-choice examination designed to measure project management knowledge. PMP certification exam questions are created by other professionals who already have achieved PMP certification. Those who receive PMP certification must continue to demonstrate ongoing project management expertise by completing continuing education requirements that supplement PMP certification.

BUCEC and PMP certification
BUCEC assists students in obtaining PMP certification by helping them prepare for the PMP exam. BUCEC's "Preparing For the PMP Exam" helps students identify their strengths and weaknesses through an understanding of the nine technical skills needed for successful project management. These skills, identified by PMI and incorporated in its Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®), include the ability to manage project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk and procurement.

Advantages of PMP certification
Obtaining PMP certification will give you the project management skills to excel at your company. These skills will make you a more productive and valued contributor to current and future employers. Consider enhancing your project management skills and marketability by working toward your PMP certification.
